Pupils at Forest View Primary school took part in a day of commemorative activities this week to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, celebrating the end of World War II in Europe.
Our year 3/4 football ended last week as champions of the local Prostars tournament. The children play exceptionally well throughout and were a real credit. Well done team!
Our nature quiz team recently competed in the first round of the annual quiz, and what a thrilling match it was! Facing off against Redbrook School, our team tackled a series of challenging questions with enthusiasm and determination. The event was closely contested, and although we narrowly missed out on victory, our team displayed incredible knowledge and teamwork. Their spirited performance and unwavering team spirit were truly commendable. Well done, team!
What a performance by years 1 and 2. They put on their very unique version of the 3 little pigs which was incredible! Thank you to Miss Sparkes and all of the staff that supported the production.
Fabulous effort by our Girl's football team on Friday. The girls took part in the district finals, coming runners up in their group which saw them play Primrose Hill in the semi-final. The girls won this setting up a final with St. Whites which they narrowly lost. Well done on a great second place finish!
The children had an absolute blast at their discos this term! From grooving to their favourite tunes to showing off their best dance moves, they truly danced the night away. A huge thank you to all the staff who made this year's discos unforgettable. Your support and enthusiasm helped create magical memories for everyone involved!
We were visited by some beautiful birds of prey as the children learnt about adaptation as part of science week. The children really enjoyed see birds such as a peregrine falcon and barn owl.
It was an absolute honour to dedicate our school library to the memory of Roy Mills and the Glorious Glosters who fought during the Korean War. We were privileged to welcome Roy's wife and family to our ceremony yesterday along with Mr and Mrs Koo from the 6.25 foundation, Roger Sterry, Mayor of Cinderford, Matt Bishop, MP, representatives from the Korean Embassy along with veterans from the Royal Gloucestershire Regimental Association and the Royal British Legio. Our library monitors did a fantastic job sharing a poem about the Glorious Glosters. This incredible event has been followed by local news.
Today we are dedicating our school library to the Glorious Glosters and Roy Mills in recognition of the brave personnel who fought in the Battle of Imjin during the Korean War. We are excited to be supported by the 6.25 foundation, an American based charity who will be making a donation of $5,033 to support our library development.
Wow! What an incredible experience for our choir, who performed alongside children from Drybrook School as part of the Young Voices Choir at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham. Young Voices is the largest choir in the world! The children were amazing and put on a fantastic show for the audience.
It was a magical day for our KS2 students when we welcomed the incredible B. Ware, author of the spellbinding book WARNING: Magic Can Be Dangerous!
B. Ware captivated the children with an enchanting assembly, sharing her book and sparking their imaginations. Throughout the day, students from all KS2 classes had the amazing opportunity to participate in writing workshops led by B. Ware herself!
Our young writers were inspired and excited to create their own magical stories. What a fantastic day of creativity and learning
