The whole school took part in a wonderful harvest assembly this morning. Children shared a song or poem with each other. We started our harvest collection today for the Food Bank. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far. You can still donate items until Friday morning.
Some of our children had great fun at the Quick Sticks hockey fun event this afternoon. This was an engagement event designed to introduce children to a new sport and to have a go at playing in more competitive games. The children were brilliant and gave everything a good go, winning 1 game and drawing another. Well done everyone!
Well done to our football team on Friday. Many members of the squad were playing in their first tournament today and never played a competitive match. They all played so well, winning 2 games, drawing 1 and losing the other two.
We are super proud of our y5/6 football team who won the district ESFA competition for the Forest of Dean. The team will now be playing in the county finals that will take place in December.
Classes from y5/6 have been visiting Cinderford library. What an amazing resource for our town! The children took out books to take home and for their classrooms.
Thank you to everyone that support the EYFS Macmillian coffee morning (afternoon). We raised £130.44 for this very worthy charity.
Amazing effort by our cross country team who took part in the district event last week. The children were brilliant, supporting each other and trying their very best. Both our boys and girls teams finished second!
Today, our junior children and staff transformed into Victorians as we turned the school into a fully immersive Victorian classroom experience. From bonnets to waistcoats, everyone dressed the part — and our teachers took on the role of strict Victorian schoolmasters and mistresses, complete with chalkboards and stern faces!
It was a brilliant way for our children to experience history first-hand, learning what school life was like over a century ago. A huge well done to all involved — the costumes, the acting, and the enthusiasm were absolutely fantastic.
Harriers class had a lovely trip to the local library to choose some books for home and class. Thank you to all the parents that came along and supported the visit.
Amazing visit from B.Ware last week who shared her latest book with the children and led workshops for them.
