Seesaw and Learning at Home
Seesaw is our school's online learning and communication platform. It provides children with their own digital learning journal and helps families stay connected with what their child is learning at Forest View.
Children's Seesaw Accounts
Every child has their own Seesaw account, which can be accessed using a unique QR code or alphanumeric code through the Seesaw Class app. The app is available for Android and Apple devices, or Seesaw can be accessed through a web browser at:
Throughout the year, children use Seesaw to build a digital journal of their learning. Teachers can also use the platform to share homework and other learning activities, which children can complete and submit for their teacher to see and respond to.
Learning When Your Child Is Absent
We understand that there will be times when children are unable to attend school.
If your child is absent from school but is well enough to continue with some learning at home, parents can request work through Seesaw. Please contact your child's class teacher on the morning of the absence and they can arrange for appropriate learning to be made available.
There is, of course, no expectation that a child who is unwell should complete school work. Their health and recovery should always come first. This provision is there for children who are unable to attend school but are well enough to engage with learning.
Where a child is absent for a longer period, we will work with families to help them remain connected with their learning wherever this is appropriate.
Seesaw for Parents
Parents can also access Seesaw Family, which allows you to see your children's learning journals in one place.
Once you have used the QR code or alphanumeric code provided by school to activate your account, you can create your own password and login details.
Through Seesaw Family, you can:
- See examples of your child's learning
- View homework and activities shared by their teacher
- Receive messages and updates from your child's class teacher and other members of staff
- Keep connected with your child's learning throughout the school year
- Receive school letters and key school communication
