EYFS

Dragonflies - Mrs S. Burke

Grasshoppers - Mrs K. Barrow

Welcome to EYFS at Forest View! We are all looking forward to getting to know you and your child properly over the next few months. We have a very exciting Autumn term ahead. The first few weeks will involve lots of new routines, meeting new friends, and settling into a new school.

We will be getting to know your child through play-based activities, with a focus on phonics, maths, and lots of opportunities to make new friends, share, take turns, and become more independent. Nursery rhymes will play a key role in supporting language development in our daily learning.

The children will take part in storytelling activities, share their likes and dislikes with new friends, talk about their families, get to know each other, use basic maths skills, and settle into their new environment.

Reading packs and homework will be sent home once the children are attending school full-time. Details about PE days and Forest School sessions will also follow soon.

Forest View uses the digital platform SeeSaw to share observations and communications. Details on how to set up your child’s account will be sent to you shortly.

During the Autumn term, we will also be holding a ‘Reading Event’ to provide information about how we read with your child at school and how you can support your child at home. Please keep an eye on SeeSaw for these dates.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the EYFS team.

All of the EYFS team are looking forward to the term ahead!
